We had a great assembly this morning put on by our 8th grade student government with performances from Jazz Band and Chorus. Be sure to ask your 7th grader all about Red Ribbon Day and the other theme days we had this week. It’s a great opportunity to talk about making positive and healthy decisions and spreading acts of kindness to others.
Social Studies US Constitution Assessment
Here are the questions that were handed out in class on Friday. The assessment will be on Thursday, November 12th and Friday, November 13th. We’ll review the questions in class on Tuesday, November 10th and you can use all the time between now and then to do your own research and to plan your answers.
Veteran’s Day Assembly
Dear Families,
This year NHS will observe Veteran’s Day with an assembly on Monday, November 9th. As part of that observance the 8th Grade Student Government has been reaching out in an attempt to honor the family members of our students and staff who have served. Here is the email from Student Government advisor, Brianna Knight:
“On the behalf of Student Government I am asking if you (the staff ) have a family member that has served in the armed forces we would like to thank them through a slide show that will be created for the Veteran’s Day assembly. Also, if you would like to reach out to your students to send in, either a digital or physical, picture of family members that have served we would love to incorporate them as well. Please have any digital photos sent to me bknight@sau21.org. “
If you have a family member who has served and are willing to share a photo we would be honored to have your participation. Please send any further requests, photos, or questions directly to Ms. Knight at bknight@sau21.org.
Thank you!
Edublog Explanation Sheet
Dear Students & Families,
Here is a copy of the Edublog Expectations that we went over in class today. They will be here on our website for your reference in case you don’t have your sheet with you when you’re working at home.
Remember, your homework this week is to create a post for one of the five main pages using an example from one of your classes so far this year to explain and illustrate how you have been working on one of these categories. You choose the category and the example. Your post must be submitted for review on your blog by Friday, October 23rd.
Field Trip & NYC Photo Permission Slip
Dear Families,
You would have found the following form in the back of your packet from Curriculum Night. We’re posting it here again in the hopes of getting them all returned to us. Please fill them out and send them in with your 7th grader.
Thank you and let us know if you have any questions!
Eric
